Life is almost good.

The article is done. So are the graphics. I can't believe it. Here's a teaser for you to puzzle over:

Garish, ain't it?

Lunch today turned into lunch-and-shopping and I was gone for three hours, but I think the break did me good. The baby was adorable at the restaurant, plowing through two huge pieces of french toast and telling everyone who went by "mmmm". After that it was off to Target for baby shoes. I suppose we're horrible parents, but for about three months now the baby has had no shoes that fit. I didn't really see the purpose of it; it was hotter than seven hells out, and she isn't walking yet so I didn't have to worry about protecting her feet. Why spend the money? But now the weather's getting cooler and toddlerhood is around the corner... so...

The baby doesn't like shoes, as a rule, but I think she digs the flowers on these. (The pudgy knees just kill me. I'm known to pinch them yelling 'pudge pudge pudge!' while the baby looks at me as if I've landed from another planet.)

Now I'm off to try to get the damn doily bound off. Never a dull moment here. Never.

Ugh, those colours vibrate - a bad combination!

Love the baby shoes - and honestly, they don't need them unless 1) it's cold, 2) they're walking, 3) they seem to be developing a shoe fetish, 4) the cat keeps trying to eat their toes, or 5) someone (annoying relative) has given you some (vile looking) baby shoes and they'd be horrendously offended (ohdearhowsadnevermind) if they didn't see them on your offspring's tootsies. And in the latter case it's probably worth pissing them off in any case ;)

How's the doily going? Woo hooo - binding off time! :D

You've got some good "high contrast" color goin' on there! And those baby knees? Too cute to not pinch a bit!!!! The shoes set them off nicely.

I'm so with you on the baby shoes...we don't buy our kids a pair of any shoes until they can walk ON the ground outside. If they're just doing toddling around the house, forget it... their pudgy little feet (they're so cute in the picture...can't hardly stand it...) are just happier grabbing the ground on their own... Hell, you knit a doily--fan-freakin'-tastic...binding off will happen when you can't stand the UFO any more...

OMG, you're going to spend so much money eventually on shoes - or whatever else it is - that she needs. Don't think a second about getting her things that she doesn't really need right now, especially when she doesn't care one whit. Enjoy it while you can.

Love the progress you've made. Inspiring!
