Rest assured.

I will keep blogging. From what I've seen so far, Ravelry is a great resource for people who use their blogs to keep track of what they're knitting, and will probably take the place of many of those types of blogs. (This is in no way meant as criticism. I use my blog that way too, and if it's ALL I used it for, I'd dump it like a hot rock and just use Ravelry.) However. I use my blog for a lot of other stuff, not the least for keeping my writing skills ticking along while I vegetate at home with the Goober. (Though, now that I think on it, this writing style is hardly going to get me an A the next time I'm called upon to write a research paper.) It wasn't until I started keeping it, that I realized how useful it was. Do you realize thanks to my obsessive detailing of the cookie-baking mania last year, I can now figure out what someone is talking about when they say "bake those macaroon things again" ?

Anyway. I'm not gonna disappear. I promise. Really. If the gym didn't do me in, nothing will. Believe me, the gym has been a BIG lifestyle change for me. An hour a day spent exercising and driving to and from the gym... Who'd have thought I would ever see the day??

Oh, and my knees are doing way better. Marked improvement every day, except for the road rash on my right knee, and even it is slowly improving. I'll probably be back to working out tomorrow. Have I mentioned that Friday I see my doctor for a torn rotator cuff? If it isn't one thing, it's the same thing, over again.

i know what you mean about ravelry being a blog replacement for some knitters, tracking projects - but like you i use my blog to practice witting, although you would wonder given my run on sentences, grammar and spelling + typos! feel free to visit me on the 'inside'

It's going to be Samurai Knitter, unless some schlep has stolen it from me. I'm not there yet... but should be in a day or two.

Another torn rotator cuff? Ouch. Isn't that the injury that baseball pitchers get all the time? Glad the blog will not disappear into the mists of ravelry. You give me too many things to think about.

so glad to hear that...I mean, we've got plans in December!

I couldn't imagine not having the blog. It's a whole different type of knitting expression/musing for me. Ravelry is a fun place to connect with people and to explore new ideas quickly. But it's not the same as blogging about it. At least not for me...

oh you're in. Fantastic. I think you summed it up well. I was worried it was gonna mean the end of blogging for me but so far, not possible. Two quite different entities for me.

I'm a blog goner thanks to Ravelry. I suppose I could keep doing it, but frankly there's only so much time I'm willing to give the electronic thing... and ravelry gets it for now.

I agree, Ravelry is, to my mind, anyhow, a great resource and a heck of a way to whittle away an hour or two of time without even realizing it - but I never considered it as blog replacement -

and congrats on sticking to the gym regimine! I am just back at mine after a (ahem) lengthy hiatus, and while I know I'll feel good once I've gone, getting out the door is such a hurdle...
