What if...

I am considering an article for Knitty, tentatively entitled 'how lace works'. What would you want to read in it? Basics like how to make a yarnover, or the more esoteric stuff like why columns of stitches lean, and lace fabric often has uneven edges or is wavy?

What would you want to learn in an artcile like that?

Come on. I need to know.

Oh, quit being bashful and leave a comment.

History of lace? I know it's 'How lace works,' but it would be cool if you could add a little about shetland lace, historical use of lace knitting, etc.
Also what you suggested about how lace behaves-edges, leaning columns, and how to achieve certain effects.
Have you ever made up lace patterns yourself? We could learn a lot from that...

By the way, I'm a blogless teenage knitty reader, addicted to your blog for three months now.

Julie, the scarf is lovely! Yes, thanks for asking, yarn overs would be helpful to talk about. Especially for a friend who particularly has problems with yarn overs. Glad you are feeling better!

dude, you could write about knitting rocks and it would be humorous, so yes, give the lace a go.

I'm ready to try some anyway, after getting that sweater done!
