Finally.

We have a sleeve. Only one, but it's better than no sleeve at all.

In fact, I'm suddenly so optimistic and motivated about this sweater, once the first sleeve was joined on yesterday afternoon, I went wild and cast on the second one. Then I did some knitting on it last night.

At this rate it'll be done by the end of November, which would be glorious.

Otherwise, I'm pretty sure I have a sinus infection, which is typical of this time of year. When I lived in Hawaii, I missed the seasons. I don't know WHAT I was thinking. Much better to visit for two weeks in October and run back to the warm weather. But nooooo. Here I sit, freezing my ass off. Actual winter will be a real treat, I'm sure.

Anyway. I'm already plotting costs and figures for all sorts of things next year, which is crazy because I've already got the yarn purchased and the first three projects lined up: the steek-along jacket (for me), the mitered sweater (for me), and the lace pullover (for me). Plus that baby surprise thing, lurking in the back of my mind. And the ongoing projects to finish, namely the blue and black norgi and the swirl afghan jacket. But I'm still flipping through color cards and catalogues and plotting the Fair Isle I want to enter in the state fair next year. (Yes, I'm a glutton for punishment.)

Oh, and the baby's still cute. You can't see it with the bib, but the shirt she's wearing says "I do all my own stunts." And that look on her face? That's the one that says "I am thinking of doing something horrible as soon as you go try to write something. Gimme another cookie."

The ball of yarn in the middle of the Husbeast's gansey? My first thought was, "Oh my God, Julie's dyed the cat to match the sweater."

The Baby is mischief personified.

Oh well done. Looking great. LOVE the colour. is the photo indicative of the real colour? It's hard to tell sometimes.

I'll race you. Your gansey for my mohair cardigan. Who can finish first???

Sigh. Your baby is so cute. I want one just like her. We need a photo where we can see the t-shirt!

Gansey looks brilliant!

Is that a Myth Busters t-shirt? I know I've seen Adam wearing the same slogan in recent episodes ;)

OMG, the baby is so GORGEOUS!!! (And remember, I should have had my 'gorgeous baby holding jones' glutted out of me three kids ago...) My toddler (he's almost 3--will that make him just a little boy? He will still be the cave trill.) Anyway, he has a shirt that says the same thing... does your kid have matching bruises to prove it? They're coming...

That baby is eyeing something... Cute is the new scary!

Great looking sweater you got there! Once again, I am in awe of the speed with which you knit.
