Strikke-along news.

There's been some buzz in the comments, so I'll say it out loud: The Strikke-Along is still on for fall, probably October. To join in, pick a project that's Scandinavian. Heck, buy Scandinavian yarn and knit anything at all. The requirements are pretty much non-existant. I intend to knit something out of "Norsk Strikkedesign", but other patterns, Latvian mittens, Bohus sweaters, it's all good. Something to keep in mind and start budgeting for if you can't blow big bucks on yarn with no notice. (Like me.) I'm hoping it won't take us all six months to get through that one. Unlike the Steek Along. Good grief.

There's also a fun link I keep forgetting to give you. A German guy was wondering what his cat got up to all day, so he rigged a camera around the cat's neck, timed to take photos every so often. The home page is here; you can get to the cat's travelogue from there. It's fun stuff.

I bought Strikkedesign because of you -- those designs are absolutely mesmerizing!
Back 2 posts--LOVE The Baby's Face!
I still plan on making a Steekd Jacket someday. I keep following along on everyone's blogs as they go along.
Most importantly, I LOVE LOVE LOVE James Burke. I love that I know that underwear led to literacy and all those amazing Connections--are those shows out on DVD?

They almost have to be available on DVD. Try a search on Discover's web site, or PBS. I know both channels have played the show.

i will no doubt sign up because, you know, two complicated knit alongs in one year just isn't enough and by then I'll be over the steek along, I'm sure. :-)
