Sekhmet, you fucker.
I wouldn't mind so much but she's been like this for THREE. DAYS. Since I got home from Florida. If I sit still for more than five minutes, bam. She's on me. Like lint.
I'm taking time off from swatch two to whine. Then I'm going to get everything put together for the Knitty article, take a bath, do one last proof-read, and fire it off. Then I'll worry about the next crisis. The husbeast asked tonight, do I realize tomorrow's Friday and his parents are stopping tomorrow night on their way through?
Yes. I do. Sigh.
Instead of knitting all evening, I allowed myself to be talked into going out to eat, and going shopping. I'm all geared up to dye all weekend! (So much for that 'take weekends off' vow. Screw it.)
That's enough dye for about two dozen socks' worth of yarn. And I got stuff to make... EASTER SOCKS!
I put The Baby to bed an hour and a half ago. She's still jumping up and down. It looks like this.
Goddamn, that's a cute kid. Off to knit some more. Sigh. I wish it were my shawl.

That is one cute Baby, all right!
three posts a day Julie??? Work displacement activity, if ever I've seen one!
She so edible.....
No wonder I feel like I must have been on vacation. Three posts? And one cute baby!
Sekhmet...love that cat...she and Dennis Quaid have been using our computers to coordinate that taking over the world thing...
I had to laugh at your cat. My cat, Pixie has seperation anxiety too. I leave the apartment, even for a few minutes, to check the mail. she goes beserk. I can hear her howling even before I get inside, then it's hang on me for the rest of my waking day. Nope, not on my lap...on my chest. Ummm, she perches across the boobs. LOL! My cat is worse than a 2 year old attached to the hip.
Easter socks! With fizzy-tab dye? ooo, that oughta be fun! Especially the purples and pinks that break apart into tiny different-colored chunks and leave dots on your eggs. I mean socks. :)
This is why I'm so grateful for the internet: your house looks like mine, your daughter is about the same age as my son (why the house looks the way it does) and I just bought a bunch of wilton's dye and easter colors to try out on yarn. Therefore, I'm not the only crazy! I've added your blog to the list I read on a regular basis since your knitty article about dyeing, btw.
Hey. It's not work displacement activity. Around here we call it by a more succinct name: AVOIDANCE.
