We used to dream about the small jackets with the long arms (that tie in the back) and hooks. Hooks high above the floor. Can't wait to hear the rest of the story.
I remember those days very well, sometimes too well. :) My youngest child (out of four) could not understand why I was doing the happy dance the day he turned 21.
There was a woman on TV that got in trouble for duct taping her children and leaving them in the closet. I was in awe, only because she was able to get duct tape on them in the first place! I know I could never catch mine to tape them down...
A friend of mine would duct tape her daughter's diaper on every night. She was 18 months and loved to 'get naked' every damn night, leading to constant sheet changing. So yes, duct tape rules.
I am in Occupational Therapy so we have to repair a lot of adaptive equipment for people with disabilities. We have saying "if it squeks use WD40, if it's broken, use duct tape... that's all you need to know"
I'm currently a stay at home mother, freelance writing on my off time, wondering how I became part of the ten thousand year old tradition of raising the kids while creating textiles.
I grew up in NE Ohio dairy country, married a sailor, lived in Hawaii ten years, lived in SC for five years, then moved back to culture shock and confusion.
Nothing but good times ahead.

I'm afraid to ask.

One of my FAVORITE sayings --- Raising children is like trying to nail Jello to a tree. Never tried duct taping Jello.

duct tape is like the force, it has a dark side and a light side, and it binds the universe together - not sure who I am quoting but I am quoting.
I am very interested in why there is this post - the story...
I think I read a Baby Blues comic strip once where the dad makes a bootleg diaper out of duct tape and maxi pads.

my imagination can only run rampant...
