It has begun.

The color stranded yoke on the Blue Shimmer.

Don't let that really long chunk of ribbing and the ucky pink cast-on bother you; later the ribbing will be folded in half, the pink taken out, and the cast-on edge grafted down. (At that gauge it'll be like doing brain surgery, but I'll worry about that when I get there.)

For now I just posted this mainly for my own records; I want to know how long it's going to take to knit this yoke, to get an idea for the rest of the sweater.

Oh, and the needle, from Susan Bates, is going to be replaced at first opportunity. It's a piece of shit. I've never seen a worse join between the point and the cable.

Ohhhhhh...I wish you hadn't said that. I'm on the hunt for a longer circ. Was hoping Susan B. could help me out on this one. ::sigh::

Oh so nice!!! Tell me, is the pink tail for marking where the start is, instead of using a stitch ring marker like I try to and fail at every time? Cos that looks like a nice way to do it!

Am so looking forward to watching the progress!

Inox circulars, all the way!!! I just got a Bates circular and I hate it. i then bought bamboo circulars (Clover) to replace the crappy ones, and the stitches don't move easily enough along the wood for my hands. Which is strange, because the stitches zip right long the double pointed wooden ones, however, they maybe Taiki or whatever bamboo.

My Inox circulars I had gotten eons ago when I started MIL's sweater, and they're the absolute bomb. They're steel and cord but they're not clunky, they don't clickety clack (can you imagine Julie with clickety clack needles??)

OH, and before I go on and on forever, how exactly do you take the pink yarn out? And why didn't you tell me that trick when I asked you that for the hat I am making??? Seems like you're keeping the good tips for yourself :::sniff sniff:::
