I've spent the day knitting. (With a quick break to mix up some cookie dough that I never baked.) I just realized - at a quarter 'til nine at night - that the in-laws will be here Friday and they'd probably like to be able to find the futon in my office to sleep on.
And the Goob's in bed for the night, so no crashing around in the room next door to clean it up.
Three days to go.
Speaking of the Goober, I made the mistake of telling the Goob that Grandma and Grandpa would be here to visit soon. She's now on a rampage.
With luck I'll have finished four whole rounds today. Sure, that's almost seven thousand stitches, but damn it. Four stinking rounds? Bah.
So that's the weekend in summary: Mess in the house, Goob on a rampage, me under a rock, knitting and pretending I don't have a huge meal to make at the end of the week.
AAAAAAAAAH!

All I have to do is bake pies--we're eating at grandma's this weekend.
No, you can't hit me with a knitting needle from Charleston, why do you ask?
Hmmmm...Can you hit PA with the knitting needles? We're spending Thursday with friends (I'm bringing the brussel sprouts), Friday at Younger Son's Sweetie's house (not allowed to bring *anything*) and Saturday and Sunday at my brother's (bringing apple pie and muffins). Enjoy the chaos, it's all we have.
I'm doing the cooking but I don't have the pleasure of a 2 year old running around. I like Thanksgiving, no gift buying, just good food and family. I think it's my favorite holiday. The house is fairly clean. If I leave the spinning wheel in her corner, there won't be fiber all over the place and it'll all be good.
It's nice to still be a college student, living at home during breaks. It means that I don't have to deal with the freak out of having to make Thanksgiving dinner quite yet.
Though I do imagine I will be helping Mom prepare tomorrow, and Dad usually helps her Thursday morning and such. Possibly because Dad gets up at ass hours of the morning (who the hell wakes up at 4:30 or 5:00 when they don't have to???).
Good luck with your meal!
The husbeast is a genius! I love that look! That's a priceless photo.
I have never had creamed wheat but I am intrigued. Your poor mother!
