Sekhmet, you fucker.

...and incidentally, I've typed that blog title so many times that my computer automatically fills in the rest of the text once I type 'Se'.

So while the Baby was napping this afternoon, I was sitting in the nice quiet living room, reading, and I hear this... this... snorting, wheezing, growl noise.

It sounded, I kid you not, like a BEAR.

No, I do not as a rule hang out with bears, but I've seen quite a few in zoos over the years, and I've heard them make that noise before. So I kind of sat up and looked over my shoulder, out the back door. Bears used to be native to the area, though I doubt one has been seen here in the last fifty years. If I DID see one in the wild, the shock alone would kill me (we run more to bunnies and moles around here). Of course, there was no bear. When I began looking for the source of the noise, I found it pretty quick.

Sekhmet was snoring, asleep under the table right next to me. She NEVER sleeps there.

I'd have taken a photo, but really, you had to HEAR it to think 'ferocious beast'.

Sekhmet, you fucker.

ha ha ha ha ha ha... too funny... Dennis Quaid will often snore loud enough that we think it's one of the kids...but never a bear...damned cat...

For the longest time I thought I was hearing the guy who lives downstairs snoring late at night. Turned out to be Desdemona the drooling cat who had taken to sleeping under the bed. Sheesh!

My cat doesn't snore very often, though he has taken to sitting in the bathroom and yowling when he wants to be let out in the middle of the night...

My mama's cats, all six of them, have sinus problems (thanks, Florida!) and they all sit around wheezing, sneezing, and snorting when they are sleeping in the Spring. My mama no longer allows them to sleep on her bed because of their "nasal symphony." hahahaha.

Baby with sox... My eldest grdau used to get my knee socks and pull them as far up her arms as she could get them and then walk around with her arms out in front ala Frankenstein's monster (see, Frankenstein was the DR.) It was so cute. Of course now she is going to be 17 in Nov. Deborah
