I know I still need to do the next Charleston Museum post. (I was there for a curator-led tour of selections from their - apparently - massive clothing collection, with a nod toward dyes and older fabrics. There were knits. I hope to get to it tomorrow.)
Yesterday the Baby turned up with some intestinal bug. Nothing serious (the doctors don't want to see you unless the kid is dehydrated or not eating or drinking, or like that) but her poor little bum got so raw that I've spent the day dealing with screaming fits whenever the bug would hit. Real, baby-in-pain screaming. We don't get a lot of that around here ('cause we've got a happy baby), so I don't cope terribly well at all. (Mostly I hug her and sniffle.)
Anyway, I think the worst of it's over and she's dozing on Dadad (as she calls the husbeast) right now. I've been up since four AM and an emotional wreck, and think I caught the germ. It's been a GOOD day.
...I finished up the second sleeve of Tut Tut last night, and I haven't even had a chance to join it to the body!
Anyway, normal blogging will hopefully resume tomorrow, but if I've got this bug, maybe Thursday. I hope none of you catch this. It's nasty. Stay home and knit for the next couple weeks.

oh the poor little munchkin. She sounds miserable!
Poor Baby! And poor Samurai Knitter/Mom! I hope that everybody gets some rest and feels better soon.
Poor baby. I think our doctor suggested putting mylanta on the rash to counteract some of the acid. I certainly feel your pain. We had our share of the illnesses running through our house (pun intended).
Hope you're feeling better.
ah, if only...yeah, poor baby w/her nasty baby bum...that's always the worst...
Hope mum-mum gets some sleep and no bug herself...
Hope you and the bub are both feeling better quick smart. Sick kids are the pits, aren't they? I still get twitchy at the memory of when my kids got food poisoning while in Sydney, and they threw up in the toilets at the YMCA where we were staying, and I had to clean it up, at 3am, with toilet paper. Shudder. SO glad they're teenagers now!! Some things I just ain't gonna do EVER again! (I shouldn't have said that aloud, should I? Bugger).
Hope you have some peaceful knitting time :)
I hope you both get better - re the soreness have you tried calamine lotion (I know it sounds odd but someone suggested it to me and it worked very well). Hope the weather cools off too.
Oh, owwwww. Those things hurt, even adults. When he was a toddler and got sick, our son used to only like the grape Pedialyte . . . purple going in one end, weird chemical green coming out the other.
Us moms are full of great bits of TMI like that. [rolls eyes at self]
(What is up with these verification words? "Oggeysgw," what is that!
