I survived February.

Historically, February has not been a good month for me. When I lived in northern climes (growing up), I was always sick. ALWAYS. Now that I've moved back, that seems to be continuing. Then my mother died in 2001, at the end of February. And my dad's birthday is in February and that has a lot of memories with it, too.

It's a crappy month.

But, it's over, and I am determined to get it together and move on. Step one is getting well. I saw the doc again tonight, he gave me a new medication, and I can already feel it working on my lungs. Hopefully, within the next day or two I'll be able to walk across a parking lot without wheezing. Which would lead to getting this stir-crazy four year old kid out of the house and to somewhere interesting like one of the dozens of museums, botanical gardens, and aquariums around here.

Since there's STILL nothing to discuss, how about a photo montage of what I've been thinking about? You can all speculate.

Looks like my brain's still working, at least.

Thank goodness.

Congratulations on your survival! The photo montage is dizzying in it's potentials. And I bet the stir-crazy 4 year-old ain't a touch on her stir-crazy mom!

Nice montage - interesting possibilities, looking forward to future posts once you're fully recovered.

Like the clock parts necklace - is it your design? Hope you continue to improve (and you don't get any more snow storms)!

You've been thinking about cat colour genetics? I love that! (Or is it just cats in general?)

February sucks even without all the extras. I'm glad the medicine is helping. How exciting to live in a city with all those things to do! Have you investigated to see if your library offers passes to the museums, aquarium, etc? Or checked out membership possibilities? One membership to a good spot can be a lifesaver when you're home with a kid. Even on a miserable weather day we can go to the aquarium and see the inside exhibits (the girl LOVES the fish, and it's so sparsely visited in winter that she can walk around without me worrying we'll get separated) and I don't feel bad only staying an hour, whereas if I'd paid all that money to get in I'd feel obligated to spend all day and just end up frazzled and exhausted.

Anyway--I hope you get out and exploring soon!!

The watch parts necklace is inspired. I can't for the life of me figure out what you're thinking from that montage. But the colors are nice....

Yes, Feb. is over and March is full of possibilities. You survived! A dastardly bout of pneumonia is on it's way out the door with the new meds. Soon you should be feeling better to enjoy your daughter, and I am looking forward to hearing about what the two of you get into and what you have been mulling over in your mind.

I am mesmerized by the incipient ferns and small mushrooms. I discovered the tiniest beginnings of hyacinths in a spot by my front door that faces south. We will survive winter in all its hideous and beautiful permutations.

I would pay cash money to go to museums and the aquarium with The Goob.
