Quote for the day.

(This blog post brought to you courtesy of the guy cleaning our carpet; I can't do anything else 'til he's done.)

ME, looking at scale in doctor's office: Okay, that's just ridiculous.

NURSE: Good ridiculous, or bad ridiculous?

ME: I've been eating cake for stress management, and lost three pounds in the last two weeks.

NURSE: Huh. I'll have to try that.

Am home from what I thought was a followup with my neuro guy, the one who did the cortisone shot a week and a half ago? His idea of followup was more cortisone. Apparently there are three or four nerves exiting the spine, that control the hand. So he did the ones today, that he didn't do last week. We located the problem nerve, because when he got it, I felt it the whole way down my arm. I mentioned I could feel that, and he wrote it down in my medical records and told me to start with that one, if there's a next time for cortisone shots. I think in a week or two I'm gonna feel great, but at the moment, even the happy floaty drugs aren't fixing the fact that I've got the rest of the house to pack by tomorrow morning.

Drugged packing. This'll be interesting.

I've done drunk packing. In my experience, it doesn't bode particularly well...

Oh yeah - that drugged packing will be fun - try not to put Sekhmet in with the cleaning products, or inside the electric frypan!

You must be nice neighbours - if you don't try to shoot the people across the street - thats a fair lowering of standards right there!

Good luck with the cortisone, the happy drugs and the move - should I send medicinal Tiom-Tams?

What might be more interesting is the un-packing!

The unpacking will be entertaining! I hope the cortisone kicks in quickly.

I didn't mean to copy Leonie. I just didn't read the other comments first.....

Remember, heavy things go in small boxes. Little things go inside big things. If it doesn't quite fit, get another box. Mark today's boxes PWD (packed with drugs.) And best of luck!

hope it went well and that everything arrives safely and on time.

when my best friend's company moved her to minneapolis, it provided pro packers. when we unpacked her stuff, we found that the movers had carefully wrapped the three ratty tennis balls belonging to her german shepherd before placing them in a box with the dog dish, etc.

moving into my long-dreamed-of condo last month reminded me just how bad moving sux, no matter how wonderful the end result.

Be careful... it's this state during which you come to and find your socks in with the kitchen stuff and the bathroom stuff packed with your tcotchkes!

That's my kind of diet, the Cake Diet!
