A spot of PT.

Due to spending the last year and a half asleep, my hand is screwy again. Still. Whatever. So I thought I'd start the year with some PT. (I also need to make an appointment for formal hand PT. Bah.)
No, really. It only looks like knitting. It's PT. I swear.

It's on quad-zero needles, with tatting thread. I think I was on round twenty, in that picture. See, lace is the way to do this, because there's no weight to lift. It's all about finger strength and dexterity. And without any weight, it actually makes my arm hurt less. Though it does make my fingers sore.

In other news? The Goob is perfecting passive resistance.
This is me, making the Goob eat an apple. The Goob informs me the M on my shirt stands for 'mean', not 'Mom'.

I'm mean. Rawr. EAT YOUR APPLE!

Beautiful needles :)
What does it means PT? :)

I was always a mean mom too. Keep it up, she'll thank you for it later. Promise.

Quad-zero needles??? Arrrgh. I knitted on ones for the first time last month and hated them. You're a better man than I, Gunga Din.

Are you doing a Niebling pattern? Had to ask, because I won't be able to see for myself for another 100 rows or so. Must do one of those myself again. Have got Lyra and Frühling waiting for me.

Mean and with big teeth! I have some OOOO needles but have never used them for anything. It might be interesting (read frustrating) to try.

She thinks your mean because you force her to eat an apple? No teeth brushing at your house? =^.^=

Quad 0? Tatting thread? Lace? This is physical therapy for your fingers, eyes and brain. How efficient!

You will have your work cut out for you with the Goob, trying to stay one jump ahead of her. Already she's trying blackmail.

Oh, you should draw a picture of a little girl who just won't eat her apples!

Maybe you and she can go "apple shopping." There are so many varieties, each with their own unique flavors. Ripeness when picked and such make a difference too. Have her pick out several varieties and make a game of taste testing them. Getting her invested in the choice of apples she eats might make it easier to convince her to eat them.Getting beyond the myth that what is good for us tastes really good, too. Is difficult, what with all the marketing of refined sugar and stuff that is just like dumping garbage into our bodies.

She needs to read Calvin and Hobbes, especially the panels where he's drawing in school. Should we all send you some?

Michael Pollan (sic) says "If you're not hungry enough to eat an apple you're not hungry. Go do something else." Mean old moms unite!

Hahahaha!! Mean moms unite. If I had been on the receiving end of that pic, I would've thought dear daughter was suggesting I was the wicked queen and she was Snow White. Come to think of it, that may be why my girl has taken to writing me scathing notes instead. Clarity is a good thing.

I sliced an apple into paper-thin slices for my granddaughter yesterday. She normally won't touch apples that didn't come from a pouch of pre-cut slices from the supermarket...yuck. She ate my slices: she neatly bit one bite out of each and left the discarded "rind" on the plate. Reminded me of eating artichokes. Obviously, next time I skin the apple. These were some new flavor, very sweet, very juicy, and I was thrilled that she ate them. Her mom is raising her on convenience food, of all things.

Mean mom! Good for you. Tell her it's in your job description.
