Four.

Today was the Goob's birthday.

Yes, she turned four. She looked very grown up in her bananina dwess. It was a roaring good time, with cake, and ice cream, and lots of presents. The big hits were a helicopter and a tea set. That's my kid. (And that's my nephew, in the background up there.)

The last time we had a birthday party here, on this very same porch, she looked like this:

I can't figure out where the time goes.

oh what a Pwincess. Happy birthday Goob. It's a pleasure watching you grow up, mostly because I don't have to deal with the mess and tantrums!

It's shocking, isn't it, how fast it seems to happen! But there's always something new, usually just as entertaining, at every stage...

Happy Birthday, Goober...

That one-year photo evokes such envy in me. Wish I could sit around topless and eat my birfday cake with my hands. May she celebraste many more birthdays, live as long as she wants to, and want to as long as she lives!!

I used to have a sweatshirt that my mom bought for me that said
"all this and brains, too". I had that thought when I looked at the Goob sitting so ladylike in her pretty pink dress. All that beauty and a brain, too.

My husband always says, "Same place it always goes."

But it started to go there faster the instant the child was born!

By the end of the first week, I could see his little hands had grown and was nostalgic, already, for my newborn.

Nice bananina dwess!

Oh - oh. What a lovely child - and she's only four. Imagine what she'll be like all grown up. :) And she's already brilliant; imagine what she'll do when she's out in the world. You should be proud to have such a daughter. Happy birthday, Goober!

Oh no! Not four already? Slow down, Goob, slow down.

Happy birthday, Goob! Such a little lady. Of course she's a bananina. Love the dress. I'm shocked at how grown up she looks.

Congrats, Julie and Husbeast, on raising such a lovely and smart little girl.
