I just got a call from a woman who wanted to hire me to cater a pig roast. Apparently she thought this number was for a restaurant. Wouldn't it have been fun if I said yes?
This is up there with the time I got a call from a guy who wanted to cater a boat to the Aleutian Islands. (You know, the ones that are part of Alaska.)
Why am I always tempted to say yes? Hahahahaha.

You're fairly sadistic, aren't you? I LIKE that in a person!
The person who contracted our fornmer string quartet once got a call from a guy with a furtive voice; he asked a lot of questions, like "What do you do?" and she answered, well, the clasics, light classical, etc....finally he said, 'No, no, no....do you strip?'
Another contractor advised,"Never say no! Tell them we can always work something out!" Since nobody would want to see our middleaged bodies stripping, I suppose we'd have had to hire a stripper to dance while we played, oh, Eine Kleine Nachtmusik, maybe.
I like your sadistic fantasies too.
I think I'd have been tempted too - but warned them I can only cook boiled eggs or desserts....
Julie isn't sadistic. Our phone number is one digit away from K-Mart. I get a lot of calls for "patio" and "housewares." I say "just a moment" in my best operator voice and hang up.
Evidently our number is also fairly close to a hotel and car rental. If I was nicer or tidier I could rent rooms or cars!
When I was in high school, we used to have a phone number that was very close to a local department store - I used to transfer callers to my little sister when I was being mean to her. That same phone number apparently used to belong to a bakery, so we also got a lot of calls for cakes - those calls usually got put on "hold" and transferred to my older sister. *I* thought it was hysterical.
